Akua Twumasi

Ms. Akua Twumasi

 

Dr. Akua Twumasi was born and raised just outside of Chicago in Evanston, IL. She received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Science Education from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2010. In 2014, she completed a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Houston Baptist University. In 2019, Dr. Twumasi graduated from Houston Baptist University with a doctoral degree in Executive Educational Leadership. Akua served as a high school science teacher and coach for 5 years, spending time in both Kansas City, Missouri & Klein ISD. Since 2015, Akua has served as an Assistant Principal at Aldine ISD’s MacArthur Senior High School. At MacArthur, she oversaw several departments including PE/Health, Athletics, Science, CTE, and ESL. In 2020, Akua transitioned into Athletic Administration, serving as the Regional Athletic Director for 36 Houston based KIPP Schools. Currently, she has the honor of overseeing all the athletic programs at the prestigious Young Women’s Leadership Academy in Fort Worth. She is also the Head Volleyball and Flag Football Coach
